Upper GI Surgery

At Private Health UHD, our Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Services team is dedicated to diagnosing, managing, and treating conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine (duodenum). With a focus on patient comfort, accuracy, and advanced treatment options, we provide comprehensive care for both routine and complex digestive disorders.

We offer both inpatient and outpatient services. Outpatients services include:

• Evaluation and treatment of heartburn, GERD, and acid reflux
• Barrett’s Oesophagus monitoring and treatment
• Management of peptic ulcers and gastritis
• Capsule endoscopy
• Oesophageal pH and motility studies

We also offer endoscopy services in our endoscopy suite, which involves inserting a thin flexible tube with a camera on one end to visualise the gastrointestinal tract. An upper GI endoscopy or EGD looks at the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum (the first part of the small intestine.
